I believe that sometimes it’s necessary to review things that were done. Also, there are many new subscribers who might not see some letters. So what if they come out to be the most interesting? :)
My personal favourite post is about poetry. Studying a new language, it’s important to have a dictionary in handy when an unknown word pops up. In that letter, we talked about some philosophical points with some drops of Russian magical grammar.
Once we start reading carefully the newspaper, we should pay attention to the chosen words. If I want you to understand me, I should say short phrases and make sure I use simple constructions. In Russian it’s not a big deal actually, just it happens people like to boast a little and build up as long as funny phrases. So once I highlighted the problem in this letter.
Many words were said about the profound and unconceived Russian soul. Staying in Russia for a while, what did you find for yourself? I picked one beautiful Russian word meaning “longness for something we don’t have and probably hadn’t had” in this letter.
