I wait for you ??? the bus stop (part 2)

In the previous newsletter, we talked about the sense of the prepositions "в" and "на". Now, I want to show you how it changes the words.

The simplest metamorphosis of the ending with the preposition “в” or “на”.

All masculine nouns end in “е”. Except if the word ends in “й”.
If a feminine noun ends in “я” or “ь”, we change it to “и”.

• 7 words only have absolutely different ending “у”

  • Шкаф (a cupboard) – в шкафу

  • Угол (a corner, an angle) – в углу

  • Пол (a floor) – на полу

  • Сад (a garden) – в саду

  • Лес (a forest) – в лесу

  • Берег (a coast) – на берегу

  • Мост (a bridge) – на мосту
